J-Hill-Marton Loop 9/24

Short, long run. Felt good. Legs felt okay. Definitely noticing a difference between the first time I did this loop, and today. Hills aren't nearly as noticeable as they were before. Definitely faster going down hill on the way home.

Another fairly decent week. Had to cut my 1200 workout short because my calf started to get tight. Glad I did I think. Probably could have pushed through it, but who knows what would have happened with my 4/3/2/1. Did the 4/3/2/1 and did it well. On pace, felt good. Sore, but good. Ankles not a good sore, achey on the outside. Feel like I'm kind of losing steam with the running thing, maybe it's the change of weather or that there's a lot going on - house, baby, etc. - I'm not sure. Think getting through the 4/3/2/1 injury free helped my mental state though.

Nice and easy five miles with the little guy. Fall definitely setting in. Legs tired, but not sore. Ankles still a bit sore. Not really sure what's going on with them. Nothing unbearable, but definitely uncomfortable at times.

Needed last night's workout to go well. Feeling pretty good about things. Would have liked to done the 5k in Killington tomorrow, but with the house, just not happening.

4/3/2/1@T 9/14

Nice workout. Was a little apprehensive getting started. Wasn't sure my legs were up to it. All the niggling injuries over the past few weeks have kind of made this running thing enjoyable. Just looking forward to CHaD and then a break. Today felt good though. Legs and hip flexers are a bit sore, but it's a good tired sore.

Stayed on pace for the most part. Little fast, but not overly so.

Crappy run. Put off going with the Little Guy. Worked on the house, then went out at 9:30. Was going to go to Brook, but it was dark and I pussed out. Ended up just running for time, and was a bit off. Thought I did five, did four plus. Right ankle did it's weird tweaky thing it was doing a while ago, but not as sharp. Calf feels fine.

Was going to do a 5x1200, but my stupid calf started getting a little tight again. No need to push it so I stopped. Thinking I might have to nix my 4/3/2/1 later. Need to keep hydrated and make sure I'm getting the right foods. The four I did felt pretty good. They were tough, but not impossible. Thought I did enough mileage for 8.0, but apparently it was only 7.5. Kind of a bummer...

2x400@R 1200@I 2x1600@T Down 9/7

Decent workout. Wasn't what I had planned, but still pretty good. Was talking with brother coach and went into it not exactly sure what to do. I was debating doing 2x1600@I and 2x1000@I. I was going to do it, but got to the 1200 mark of the 1600 and pulled out.

These workouts that run through all paces are pretty tough. Legs are tight and sore, but it's a good sore.

5x1600 1x3200@T 9/4

Was going to do a long run, but things got pushed back to the end of the day. Figured I might as well go to the track and get my workout out of the way. Maybe do a long run tomorrow. Things felt pretty good all in all. Legs are tired, ankles a bit sore, right calf is sort of tight.

Weekly plan called for 6x1600, ended up doing 5x1600 plus 1x3200. Last 3200 was tough, but got it done. Goal pace was 5:50, average pace was 5:44. Quicker than I wanted, but not bad all the same. Minute rest.
