11x400@R 7/30

Called for 10-12 400s. Did 11. Almost quit at 10, but 9 was fast and 10 was slow so I did 11. Found it really hard to hit 74s. I might have been able to do it in spikes, but wore trainers. My left heel is pretty sore. When I grab the achillies tendon it's pretty sore. Brother coach thinks it might be tendonitis. Hoping it's not. Need to start icing a bit, see how that works.

Killer workout today. Think it was because yesterday was a decent R workout. Hope it was, because otherwise I'm really out of shape. Legs felt sore, but the pace was killer. Usually I can pop T miles at 5:50 or below and it's pretty easy. Today I was fighting to keep them where they were and the last two drifted up a bit much for my liking.

Did two today. Hit the track and did a 5x200/200/400. Felt better than when I did it last week. Not nearly as hot. Humid. Achilles a little sore, felt bruised, but not as bad as it was. Some easy stretching and keeping it easy ought to help.

Weekly Plan 7/21-7/27

Turkey Trot Phase II Week I

Have to double check dates, but pretty sure this is the second week of Phase II. Should end four days early. Might do the Hannover T-Trot on Sunday before TDay. We'll see. This whole season plan is going to be a little tough as we'll be doing lots of work on the house. Last year same crap happened. Also still down to five days a week. Would love to get that extra day or two in, but I'm pretty sure it's the stroller that does my ankle in.

Pretty crappy run. Went out to do 5 or 6 miles, hamstrings felt really tight so I ended up just doing two then jogging a couple of barefoot miles. Don't think I pulled anything, but felt more than just a strain so played it safe. No need to bugger things up this early on...

First workout in sometime. Felt pretty good muscle wise, but the heat was pretty killer. Shouldn't have done it in the heat, but did. Felt good. Did a fair bit barefoot and not feeling ankle wonkiness - starting to think it's the damn stroller.

Jumped in the stream after the 200s of the third set. totally killed my 400 time coming back, but got on it there after. Huge blister on the heel again. Did the last two sets barefoot.
